Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe or Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
The day starts with a pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe where your safari guide will meet and brief you just before you set off to Murchison Falls National Park. You will drive through the busy suburbs of Kampala through Luweero to Masindi where you will stop for lunch and proceed to the park. There is an opportunity to see some primates as you drive through Budongo. You will visit the top of the falls to witness its power and enjoy the wondrous beauty here. Then drive to the northern part of the park for a game drive with a chance to see lots of antelopes and buffaloes plus some elephants and giraffes.
After the game drive, you will head to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise
You will wake up early morning, have breakfast at the restaurant and head out for the morning game drive by 6:30am. As you drive through the plains of the park, you may spot wildlife including Uganda kobs, giraffes, hippos, lions, buffaloes, and elephants. On a good day, you could sight a leopard. Be keen to see different kinds of birds in the savannah and woodland vegetation. After the game drive, you will drive back to your lodge, freshen up, have lunch and go for the afternoon boat cruise on the Nile.
The boat cruise starts at Paraa and takes you via schools of hippos and water birds including pied kingfishers, little egrets, water-thick knees, and Egyptian geese among others. Nile crocodiles are sometimes spotted relaxing on the shores of the river. As you get to the climax of the journey, you watch the stunning bottom of the falls: the Nile magnificently flowing after penetrating through the 7m gorge.
Cruise back to Paraa, meet your safari driver and drive to the top of the falls where you will witness the Nile’s thunderous power, and enjoy a shower from the river as a result of pressure when penetrating through the small gorge and the beautiful surrounding.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Chimp tracking
After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will head out for chimpanzee tracking in Budongo forest located in the southern side of the Murchison Falls conservation area. Compared to Kibale National Park, chimp tracking in Budongo often comes with long walks before spotting the chimps. The ranger guide will take you around in search of the primates as well as learn about other attractions of interest that may be spotted, for example, the birds and other primates. At the end of the trek, you will return to the lodge and relax.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Kampala via Ziwa rhino sanctuary
On your last day of the 4 Day safari, you will check out of the lodge and embark on your return journey to Kampala. En route, you will drive off the main road in Nakasongola to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. This is where you will look out for the rhinos on foot with the help of a ranger guide.
