Kabale is a town in the Western region of Uganda in Kabale district. It is approximately 337 kilometres (209miles) between Kampala and Kabale, driving from Kampala to Kabale is 407 kilometers(253miles). Kabale was originally part of Kigezi district, before the districts of Rukungiri, Kisoro, Rubanda and Rukiga and were excised to form separate districts.


The town is a bit small but well equipped with various facilities, like referral hospitals, banks, hotels and lodges, restaurants and it is also a high way to Uganda-Rwanda border and route to Bwindi National park. There are a number of sites that can be so interesting in Kabale. Lake Bunyonyi the deepest lake in Africa is major tourist attraction in Kabale, many people approach this lake to view the 22 islands that sit on this lake and from lake Bunyonyi one can do a community visit to the Batwa people. The Batwa are the people that choose to live the ancient life though some do practice farming and other modern forms of life. The Batwa people are good in terms of welcoming visitors and they have so much things to show their visitors like their hutting skills, dancing and musical treats and many more.
